Overview
Attributes are custom fields you store on contacts, and Variables let you drop that data into messages with {{...}} placeholders - so every email, message, or page can be personalized automatically.
Where to find it
Manage Attributes in your workspace settings and CRM; use Variables in emails, messages, and templates.

How it works
- Create an attribute (for example "company" or "plan").
- Store a value on each contact, via forms, imports, or automations.
- Insert a variable like {{first_name}} or {{company}} into your content.
- At send time, SmartlyQ replaces the variable with each contact's value.

What you get
- Custom fields to store any contact data.
- Dynamic personalization with {{...}} variables.
- Consistent data across forms, CRM, emails, and automations.
Tips
- Set a fallback for variables so blank fields do not leave awkward gaps.
- Map form fields to attributes so personalization data is captured automatically.
